Hello Elizabeth, Marijo, Megan and Vanessa!

I am thrilled to be working with you to use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to better understand yourself, each other, and how you function as a team.

Overview

Using MBTI, I can help you understand your natural preferences for directing your energy, taking in information, making decisions, and approaching the outside world - and the preferences of your team members - in order to increase individual and team performance and satisfaction. Together, we will use this information to inform the team's vision, strategy and action plan in order to connect to the greatest value you can offer towards making the world a better place for all.

About Myers-Briggs:

The MBTI is a personality assessment that gives you a 4-letter type such as ISTJ or ENFP. This type describes your innate preferences for how you understand and interact with the world and others. There are many free versions of the test online, but the MBTI "Step II” Assessment offered with this session provides a breakdown of each of the 4 letters of your type into 5 facets for an even deeper understanding. During our session, we will also have an interactive discussion to verify your online assessment results, and to make a determination as to what your true “best fit” type is (which may differ from your online results).

Team Vision Session Goals:

  • for each of you to have a deeper understanding of your own and each other's personality types and innate preferences, so that together you can identify your unique gifts, natural strengths, and potential areas of growth both individually and as a team

  • for each of you to have increased knowledge of the Myers-Briggs framework and how to use it to understand and appreciate differences not just within the team but beyond - clients, collaborators, and even friends and family members - and how to leverage those differences to increase collaboration and cooperation

  • to use this understanding to inform the team's vision, strategy and action plan in order to to connect to the greatest value you can offer towards making the world a better place for all

What’s Included:

  • Three-hour team vision session

  • Myers-Briggs “Step II” Assessment and 17-page interpretive report in PDF format for each team member

  • Myers-Briggs “Introduction to Type” 52-page booklet in PDF format for each team member

Here's how it will work:

  1. You will each take an individual MBTI assessment online (Megan signed up for an individual session with me so she has already done hers)

  2. We'll meet for three hours online via zoom, date TBD

    • We will begin by discussing individual and team challenges and goals.
    • Then we'll go through the MBTI self-assessment and type verification process (you'll get the results of your online assessment after we have done the self-assessment exercise).
    • Then we map everyone's type onto a "type table" so we can see where there might be similarities, differences or gaps in communication style, mental processing, decision making, conflict resolution etc. There are different exercises designed to foster a greater understanding between team members of what might be driving certain types of behavior and actions, and how to better accommodate different preferences.
    • We'll end the session with a list of action items for the team to apply what we just learned and put it into action.

  3. I'll be available via email afterwards for any follow-up questions, and I'll ask for your written feedback within a week of your session.

Let's get started!

In order to get started, please watch this short 5 minute video. Avoid the temptation to skip this step before doing the online assessment! It will help you get the best information out of your assessment.

Note, if you have trouble streaming the video, you may view it or download it from Dropbox.

Once you have watched the video above, you may proceed with your online Myers-Briggs Step II assessment here (Megan - you don't have to do this again!)

You will first be taken to a registration page where you will be asked to create an account. Then you will get access to the assessment.

Remember to allow 30-60 minutes for the assessment, and to complete it at least 48 hours ahead of our session. You will receive the results of your assessment during our session.

Note that the assessment is not an assessment of skills, talent or performance. The results are confidential - I will not share them without permission.  I will confirm your agreement to share your results amongst the team at the start of the session. If you have any concerns, please talk with Elizabeth.

Questions to think about in preparation for our team vision session:

In order for us to take the findings from each of your assessments and tie them into the team's mission, vision and goals for 2018 and beyond, please think about and be ready to answer the questions below at the beginning of our session.

As this is a team session, think about the answers in the context of your role on the team, but in keeping with the Gaia Project's holistic approach, you will each be invited to talk about as much as you need to from other parts of your life.

If you'd like to write your answers down and send them to me ahead of our session, you can, but this is optional.

  1. What is your biggest challenge right now in your life, business or career?
  2. What is the biggest change you could make in the next six months to increase your personal and professional impact and/or decrease your levels of stress and overwhelm?
  3. What are your overall mission, vision and goals for the next year? Don’t worry if you don’t know exactly, just be ready discuss what this might look like.

Next steps:

Right now I am waiting to hear from Elizabeth and the team as to possible dates and times for our team session. Until then, there is nothing more for you to do.

I look forward to our session and wish you a happy new year!
